    1. Paul, in the thread started "Gesellschaftsanzug mit fangschnur", I show this Officers Gala tunic, it is one of three uniforms I have obtained, direct from the Officer. That Officer is Hans-Jurgen Pohl who entered service in 1968 as a career Officer, and retired in 1993 after 25 years service as a "Oberstleutnant", he served most of his time in the Panzer arm..attached to "Panzerbrigade 8" garrisoned in Luneberg...he finished his service on the staff of the now defunct 1st Korps in Munster. Hans-Jurgen had followed his father Oberst Helmut Pohl, a decorated WW2 veteran, and former commander of Panzer Battalion 314 "Oldenburg" into service with the BW and like his father went into the Panzer arm. I would imagine that the pre 1970 tunics were worn well into the 1970's and upon promotion, pips were added, there are traces on two his tunics, the Oberleutnant and his Majors, that an extra pip was there ! why they were removed I have no idea ! I will when time allows, post his Majors tunic and his fathers Panzer combination, together with its history. I show a photograph of his last posting, the HQ of 1st Korps in Munster, still there today, but know HQ of the German/Nederland Korps. Prost ! Steve.
    2. Gentlemen, one of three uniforms obtained from a retired Bundeswehr Officer...I have shown his Gala uniform, here is his service uniform, it is ranked "Oberleutnant" although I suspect it has been "Hauptmann" ranked at one time, due to evidence of a third pip on the shoulder straps...do I replace, or leave as is ? The tunic displays an embroidered armshield, again for "Panzerbrigade 8" and came with attached bronze BW proficiency badge and ribbon bar for both sport and lifesaving medals, it also came with trousers in anthracite with "rosa pink" piping down the outside seam. Note the tunic is of the old style, pre 1970, with loose cuffs...I believe the trousers lost their piping around the time of the introduction of the new style in 1970. I am thrilled to own another piece with provanance....I also own the Officers later 1980's Major ranked tunic... http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2012/post-7645-0-93559900-1333638104.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2012/post-7645-0-38722700-1333638150.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2012/post-7645-0-04519700-1333638191.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2012/post-7645-0-76944500-1333638211.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2012/post-7645-0-39026400-1333638170.jpg

    4. Gentlemen...I show one of three tunics obtained direct from a Bundeswehr veteran, a career soldier who followed his father, a WW2 vet, into BW service in 1968....as a young leutnant, retiring in 1992 as an Oberstleutnant, he served in the Panzer arm. I have obtained three of his tunics, and his fathers 59' dated Panzer combination, here is his "Gesellschaftsanzug mit Fangschnur". This jacket is more commonly known as the "Zweitschenrock" (Two pocket tunic), authorised for wear in 1963 and was replaced by the black dinner jacket dress in 1973. It is ranked "Hauptmann" and bears a handstiched armshield of "Panzerbrigade 8" which is based at Luneburg. This tunic came with matching Anthracite trousers. .http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2012/post-7645-0-91963300-1333494104.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2012/post-7645-0-94253700-1333494125.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2012/post-7645-0-87081200-1333494155.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2012/post-7645-0-02057600-1333494187.jpg
