    1. Sorry I can't be of assistance with pictures of shoulderboards, but maybe I can help with the pickelhaube... Imo its a pickelhaube Mod 1895 Garde-Pionier-Bataillon (Berlin) Garde-Korps. They had round front visor, silver helmet plate, silver fittings except gold chinscales and gold star studs for the spike. The chinscales are flat and not rounded, the rosettes on the gold chinscales are silver. All of this seems to match with the shown helmet. Normally the spike should removable to be replaced with a black haarbush for parades. It's also correct that there is no bandeau on the helmetplate, because the tekst "Mit Gott für König und Vaterland" is allready on the reserve cross. Here's one with parade bush for comparison... 2. I got some new and important info from Tony yesterday (thank you very much Tony!!!). He writes the following: Kraus Vol II p. 704, Luftschiffer-Bataillon Nr.2 and 3.Kompanie Flieger-Bataillon Nr.1 had gilt chinscales with silver rosettes. Kgl. Sächs. Telegraphen-Bataillon Nr.7 had silver chinscales. For Kraftfahr-Bataillon (2.Kompanie) it is quite obscure and I cannot find what chinscales were. This actually means it's only with 100% certainty to say that this Tschako is used by Kgl. Sächs. Telegraphen-Bataillon Nr.7. This makes it even rarer than I tought at first... and that's a good thing of course... Adler 1
    3. I also have to admit that my knowledge about this is very limited. Nevertheless, it sure looks like a nice piece! Adler 1
    4. Finding a Sächsischer Offizierstschako der Verkehrstruppen… One day I was making my fifth tour (pfff…) on a militaria show somewhere in Germany. Nothing spectacular to find or even to see. All of a sudden I noticed an elderly guy who had a rather worn out box in a plasic bag. He was trying to sell it to some dealers, but failed to do so because some said it was put together and others made remarks you don’t even want to hear… After a little while, he was willing to show it to me (as not being a German) and guess what was in the box… Indeed, this super rare Sächsischer Offizierstschako der Verkehrstruppen. Anyway, I put up my best pokerface and managed to purchase the Tschako for a very reasonable price. This really made my day! The seller knew not so much about what he just had sold, but he could tell that this “helmet” once belonged to his grandfather and that he had served in WW1 as an officer. Here are the possibilities: Kgl. Sächs. Telegraphen-Bataillon Nr.7 Luftschiffer-Bataillon Nr.2(3.Kompanie) Kraftfahr-Bataillon (2.Kompanie) Flieger-Bataillon Nr.1(3.Kompanie) As you can see, the box is not in the best condition anymore, but it protected its content rather well. What I like very much about this set is that it still was complete with its box, cover and even a small cover for the Feldzeigen. It’s also very cool to see that little pocket in the lid of the box to contain the Feldzeigen and its cover… I’ve never seen this before actually… The stamp on the inside of the lid appears to be F. Ritter Prag, but that’s all I can make of it… So, enjoy the pictures gentlemen! Adler 1
    5. A super rare fantastic (also wanna have) canteen! Congratulations! Adler 1
    6. Thank you very much gentlemen! Ahh... a philanthropist making other collectors happy... that's a very good way to explain things . Always glad to have improved your day! Bernhard, good you found the Jg.Btl. 10, that's also not so easy to encounter... Adler 1
    7. An M95 Tschako for Großherzoglich Mecklenburgisches Jäger-Bataillon Nr.14 A few months ago, it was time to find this rarity. After a 10 year search, this little fella showed up at a militaria show and once again, I was unable to resist the fatal attraction . Maybe it’s an addiction or a desease … One doesn’t find a Tschako for the Großherzoglich Mecklenburgisches Jäger-Bataillon Nr.14 every day… there were only a few units from this Grand Duchy. The Feldzeichen is kinda unique because it’s checkered instead of only one color. It’s just to bad this Tschako has taken a hit which resulted in a damaged wappen and a dented shell… but that’s part of the history and I’m happy with that… Enjoy the pictures, Adler 1
    8. Ok, no comments... maybe you gentlemen had already discovered it? Anyway, I couldn't resist to this little joke ... So, here's the little critter together with his big brother... Adler
    9. Not so long ago, I was able to acquire this strange helmet. It's an M17, because of the metal liner band and yet with the M91 lugs for the (missing) chinstrap. There's no makers mark or size visible... The color appears to be period, but it's a strange brownish glossy paint. The helmet itself looks German, not Austrian, but yet the color does look more Austrian... Maybe you gentlemen can point out what this might be? Adler 1
    10. Thanks for your nice comments! Chip, I gues it was a once in a lifetime deal... that's why it took 20 years to find one like this... Adler 1
    11. Can you imagine going with low expectations (and not so much euros in your wallet) to the biggest militaria fair in Belgium and then you find a super rare birdie ? Well, that's what happened to me the last time in Ciney ... One moment it gets very hot and the other moment it gets freezing cold ... After some "Ciney Brune" beers and some serious negociating, I was able to bring this beauty home... I can present you an M95 officer's pickelhaube of the Anhaltisches Infanterie-Regt. Nr.93. My 20 year quest has finally ended, now the search for a nice IR92 can begin ... Maybe much can be told, but the pictures will do the work I hope... Adler
