I am in the process of renovating a WWl LE .303. I have obtained an authentic pull through and plastic oil bottle but I am having a problem finding a sling.I think I may have to make one. Therfore can anyone let me know the dimensions.Also where can I obtain the real cotton webbing all I can seem to find is polypropylene or nylon which is not authentic. Also what was the original finnish for the wooden stock. Regards. swl

Sulphur can be obtained from most hoticulture suppliers as it is used as a fungicide.As for saltpeter I don't know where to get this from. Regards. swl

Many thanks Ulsterman Helion publishing have a fine selction of books on the Afghan wars. Helen is the poem that you refer to by Kipling, the one that cotains the lines "When you lay dying on Afghans plains and the women come to cut up your remains.......".I would have checked for myself but I have mislaid my copy of Barrack Room Ballads. Paul I will try and get the book you suggested. Many thaks to everyone.

I am new to Gmic. I was wondering if anyone knew of any book that records the history etc of the Partition Riots in India.I am trying to research my family's connection with the regiment at this time. Also does anyone know where I could obtain the British death toll in India during this period. Thanks in advance.
