Thank you Enzo. It is collectors society auction, they are charging auction fee 10 percent only 🙂. If I may ask you again, they are offering also FJI commander with starting price USD 680,-. The ribbon is not original. What is your opinion concerning authenticity and price?
Thanks
Jan
Thank you, I am familiar with those sites and all the informations they contain, but that does not help me make up my mind whether the cross offered is original or not.
Hello guys,
one local auction is offering this cross, which I am missing in my collection. I would like to know your opinion as far as authenticity is concerned.
Thanks
Jan
The medal is marked LUDW.BERTRAM. 2.LIN.BAT. and is very well researched.
I would like to hear if the size 44 mm is correct or not. And if it was produced by casting. Thanks.
Hello friends,
this medal was sold at a local auction and was subsequently published in the magazine of a collecting society. The author states that it has a diameter of 44 mm, a weight of 29 g. That diameter is larger than usually reported. And I think at 44mm the medal would have to be heavier. He further states that it was made by casting. What do you think about it?
Thanks
Jan
I don't think the problem is the age of the medal. I know many older medals for which new ribbons can easily be purchased. But the point is that this Bulgarian medal was awarded in small quantities, so it doesn't appear much on the market, and therefore the demand for new ribbons is small, and that's why no one makes new ones.
