    1. And the back: here is the number. Too bad about the pin.. at least it's easy to replace
    2. Please notice this Order was awarded to a woman, that was retired ! ("pensionara" = retired / with pension ).
    3. While I can not provide any information for the question, I do have some nice pictures :jumping:
    4. Yesterday, Timisoara was the host of another collectors fair. Since this was announced only one week before, and Suceava and Bucharest have had one at the same time, it was pretty low in interest. But the person that I've seen one year ago with the moto AVSAP badge was there. Lucky for us he has way too high prices to sell it.
    5. Wow ! Now that is a very fine list of Romanian communist awards. Thank you Anatoy ! And now for the comfort of those who do not know Russian, such as myself, here is the translated page: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ru&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fsammler.ru%2Findex.php%3Fact%3DGallery%26cat%3D150

    7. Now I`ve asked the seller how does he know that this is a Romanian medal bar, and his answer was that " I bought it from Romania many years ago". Even if that is true, this bar has medals from way to many nations to assume it belongs to a certain one... Should I assume that he is right because the Romanian is the first one?! Well... I`m no medal expert, but I am thinking of an "assembled" bar.
    8. I`ve been meaning to list this in the forum for a while now, but did not want to start a new topic :speechless:
    9. Well.. by the looks of it, the stamping is a little too... thin, in my opinion.
    10. I don`t know if this would necessarily be a Securitate bar, but since it is not mine, I thought I should put it here, just to have a record of it. I've seen the ribbon of the last piece before, I know it`s for the police, but I do not know what the medal looks like. Anyone ?
    11. Well, you are actually right; he' a little too jolly, too ! But now that you've drawn attention to it, the issue date (next to his picture) 18.05.1964, so he was 49; and retired in 30.04.1964. ....which should place the strike over the "MAI Securitate" at a later phase, after retirement; so you can definitely say that he was an agent. WHICH explains why he`s in civilian: paranoid "Secu" never released any unrequired info.
    12. I would say it has something to do with his promotion from major to lt-colonel('92) and then to colonel('95). Or maybe the retirement ? Anyway, I have no idea on how I could find out what the list of specialties was...
    13. I wasn't THAT interested in Securitate, but after finding this royal-RPR-RSR-post socialist document, I definitely raised an eyebrow :jumping:
    14. So if we are to believe this document, the guy lived to see 80 years of age (born 1915, promoted to reserve Colonel in 1995).
