    1. Have you by any chance a copy of this diploma and a photo of the related medal?
    2. Thank you very much for this information. All the best, J-S Karlen
    3. Good evening Gentlemen, Does anyone know what the third medal from left (cross with Courage - Dévouement - Mérite on central shield suspended from a red ribbon with two green stripes) on the following Belgian WW1 group of medals refer to? Thank you in advance for letting me know. Cheers, Jean-Samuel Karlen
    4. Hello Lambert, Thank you for your reply. It sounds interesting. I really consider buying it but I have to save some money first... Cheers, Jean-Sam.
    5. I found it a bit pricy myself. But wat would be a "reasonable" price for this cross and this particular gold "passador"? In other words, what price a Brazilian collector like you would be ready to pay for it? Cheers, Jean-Sam.
    6. Hello Lambert, I have recently seen on a Brazilian seller's Internet site several 1870 Brazilian crosses (Campanha do Paraguay) for sale. Most have only one single "pasador" on their ribbon (all with different numbers, such as "0", "1", "5", etc.), but among them I have seen a cross hanging from a ribbon wearing TWO different bars ("1" and "2")... ?!? Is it possible to find a cross hanging from a multiple-bars ribbon...? By the way, who received the "pasador" without any number ("0")...? At first I believed it was given to military personnel who served less than 9 months in this war. But I have also read somewhere that they were given to "administrative personnel"... Do you know more about it...? Thank you in advance for letting me know. All the best, Jean-Sam.
    7. Thank you Lambert for your answer and information. All the best. Jean-Sam
    8. Thank you Vili for your info. Cheers. J-S Karlen
    9. Hello, I have recently acquired a similar cross (Campanha do Paraguay / 1868-1870), unfortunately without ribbon. Do you know if it is possible to find one such ribbon on the market (an original would be great but a newly-made one would still do the job)? Regarding the ribbon bar, was it possible to wear the cross without a bar or was it necessarily issued with at least one bar ? Thank you in advance for letting me know. J-S Karlen.
    10. Good evening Gentlemen, Recently I have bought a WW2 group of three Finnish medals including: - 1939-1940 Winter War medal (Reverse: KUNNIA INSÄNMAA); - 1941-1945 Continuation War medal (Observe: FOSTERLANDET); - Medal 1st class (silver with gilded cross) of the Order of the White Rose of Finland (Reverse: ISÄNMAAN HYVÄKSI). Does anyone of you know if it is possible to find the Winter War medal with Finnish reverse together with the Continuation War medal with Swedish observe on the same group? Thanks for letting me know. All the best. J-S Karlen
    11. Hello, About 35 years ago, when I was a young tank commander, I bought the following badge in a shop in Thun (Switzerland). I bought it because it reminded me of my dauntless "predecessors" who were stuck in uncomfortable noisy tin cans full of grease and smoke. The badge is plain silver and weighs 29 grams. Please note: it looks slightly rosy on the pictures but this is a mere effect of the light. It is in fact more blueish. It has no markings and I am not sure about its originality. I personally regard it as a copy. Could anyone confirm? Thanks Jean-Samuel Karlen
    12. Thank you Claudio for your comments. You are right about the medalist: it is actually the Swiss company HUGUENIN, in Le locle, Switzerland. Al the best. Jean-Sam.
    13. Hello, Does anyone know anything about this Italian WW1 commemorative medal? More specifically: Was it issued with a diploma? Why is it issued in bronze and silver? How many were attributed? Do miniatures exist? Who designed it? etc. Thank you in advance. Jean-Sam
    14. Very nice medal bars. Something to be proud of. It is interesting to see the Hindenburg cross mixed with the unofficial and eventually banned Weimar medals and crosses! German were obviouly more "relax" about regulations as it is usually expected... I particularly like the "Treu dem 18. Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment" group with the photo and the WW1 veteran diploma. Just SPLENDID !
    15. Good evening Gentlemen, To those interested -- and who do speak French! --, here is an article I have written ... after much researches ... about this topic (see Word document in attachment). All the best. Jean-Samuel Karlen. SSPar(HelvetiaBenigna)23janvier2014.doc
    16. And I'll finish my display today by another "cutie". Good evening to you all and all the best. J-S Karlen.
    17. Here is a Frackspange I have purchased recently. Note: the EK2 and WW1 commemorative Hungarian medal were lacking. They were probably removed from the bar after 1934. I thought it best to refurbish the all thing.
    18. Good evening Gentlemen, Some of my favorite Weimar medal bars in the following posts. I start with a two-medal bar. Nothing much, really, and rather easy to get, but I like it anyway. Cheers Jean-Samuel Karlen
    19. Great medal groups. Especially the one with the LUFTKRIEG combat bar! Do you know whom it belonged to?
    20. Do you sell them as a whole group or seperately and at what price/s?
    21. Interested indeed... But some pictures and the price wanted could greatly stimulate this interest... or not...
