    1. THE POST COMMUNIST PERIOD UNIFORM JACKET WITH CAP: At this stage the Prison Officers still were classed as a Military Formation, and still armed. Kevin in Deva.
    2. Hallo Alex K, very interesting snippits of information, but I have to wonder if he is refering to real medals that have names added on them to people who were not entitled to them, (self-awarded) as to out and out forgerys of the medals themselves. He seems to feel its easier to check out the officers awards as there is much more detailed info in Records, where as to verify other-ranks is far harder? Kevin in Deva
    3. Hallo Mike, I actually removed my Order of the Crown from a medal bar, and it does not sit into the concave depression in the case correctly, the edge of the depression slopes down to about 31mm. I attach a picture that has been highlighted to show the depression better. Kevin in Deva.
    4. Shoulder Board left side. The silver slides are in metal. Kevin in Deva
    5. Jacket Number Two. In far better condition than the first. Note the two blue tabs on the collar, significance unknown at the moment. Kevin in Deva
    6. Hallo Paul R not sure I want to be "feeling" any chain gang members the Romanian Prison labour groups are quite decent, it gets the prisoners out of the prison for a few hours, there are no chains, family members come with food (if from the locality) escapes are very seldom. Most are petty criminals. Prisons were a grim place in the more recent past, but are improvong slowly (not to the deluxe standard demanded by British lags and Western European prisoners.) With regards the jacket I believe from the Communist 1980s, I will attach pictures of the second one shortly. Detail on the cuff of Jacket Number 1. Kevin in Deva
    7. Hallo Mike thanks for the suggestion but upon trying a Italian Order of the Crown, it does not sit right in the box the indentation is approxamately 38mm across. Kevin in Deva.
    8. Hallo Jim, The way this is written it sounds like he is being nominated for sainthood. . . . . whenis this dated too?? Kevin in Deva

    11. Hallo Gents, I would like to post some pictures of a Romanian Prison Officer Uniform that I found. It consists of two jackets and one pants, condition as in the pictures. Rank unknown, and no headgear. All I know is that the Prison Officers / Guards / Wardens / Screws came under the Military Authorities and at the moment is in the process of being re-organised as a Civil Unit. Up to now it was not uncommon to see labour gangs working in the city streets, digging trenches for the Gas Company, Water Company etc to be guarded by Prison officers armed with Kalashnikovs of which I am wery of taking pictures of Communist Period Jacket 1, Front. 12. Hallo Gents, please take a look at the pictures and see if you can suggest what belongs in it, as I have no idea, apart from V.E might be King Victor Emanuel, which would date it to pre Ww1, WW1 (?) ? The case is 58mm wide by 94mm long Kevin in Deva.
    13. I also have these items, which have Czech Legion connections. Kevin in Deva
