    1. Greg - Thanks for the post, unfortunately after comparing my armband with ones on offer at Weitze's military site, I've come to the conclusion its a fake. They were on offer 500 - 700 euro price range. Regards
    2. Gentlemen thanks for the posts. I too have a good feeling about this badge. Here are two better pictures.
    3. Here's what appears to be a wall-plate from the organization - Ordengemeinschaft der Ritterkreuzträger.
    4. I have been able to find a organization members card belonging to Knights Cross Holder - Generalleutnant F.W. Neumann, unfortunately the picture is not the best. The general's card
    5. This was the second piece I was offered at the weekend, SS collar tab found along with a war-time family photo. I have my doubts about its originality, but know little about SS pieces, what do members think ? Any information welcome Regards
    6. I was offered this wool armband at the weekend. I didn't know exactly what it was for - suspect it may be NSDAP Kreisleiter, Hauptamptsleiter, Ortsgruppen Führer. Could members tell me who wore such a armband - rank, whether its original and what price range they trade at. Any information welcome. Regards
    7. I've been offered this small goldern party badge. Sorry about the poor pictures, I'd hoped they would turn out better. Do members think its original ? Regards
    8. Picked up these two Soldbuch Covers today. The first two I have, I do have a number of Wehrpass Covers, when you reflect the soldiers carried the soldbuchs on their person at nearly all times and the condition some of the soldbuchs got into. You would think there would be more soldbuch covers around, oddly the reverse seems to be the case, more Wehrpass covers, although they rarely came into the soldiers possession and being held by the unit's administation. Strangely it seems they bought wehrpass covers !
    9. Heiko, I'm fairly sure Himmler did not serve in WW1- he was too young. I read somwhere it was the bane of his life, that he alone amongst the Third Reich top brass had no WW1 medals to wear.
    10. Gentlemen, some nices combat miniatures / stickpins, very nice indeed. Here's another addition - Black Legion Condor Wound Badge Stickpin.
    11. Bought these four pieces, a collector thinning out his collection. Left to Right - Wehrmacht Army Service Medal for 18 years on Ribbon - Kraftfahrer's Silver Badge - Legion Condor Wound Badge Set : Black Legion Condor Wound Badge with a matching miniature.
    12. Bought this Stahlhelm M35 model from a collector thinning out his collection. I believe a Luftwaffe helmet due to colour, one decal, maybe from a Flak Unit. Chin strap is missing (have to get one) believe lining O.K. Regards
    13. Bought this small stickpin a couple of weeks ago. Measures 9mm x 9mm with initials OdR (Ordengemeinschaft der Ritterkreuzträger) belongs to veterans organization of Knight Cross holders. Organization formed in 1952 from surviving Knight Cross holders. Reverse is plain, not seen one before, thought members might like to view it. Regards
    14. Don, Thanks for the post. I was deeply sceptical from the start about this piece, due mainly to the missing place marking. Thought it prudent to pass it through the forum as it had a long-standing thread up and running. Best Wishes Alec
    15. I've been offered this badge, it doesn't match with other badges shown on the thread, as the Saarlauten mark is missing from the back. Unsure - although the same badge as appeared on German Militaria sites, without comment . I welcome opinions. Regards PS small amount of gum has been left on red swazy from tape
    16. I've dug out these three double Iron Cross miniatures - top one has maker mark L/24 - middle double has makers mark L/52 - bottom one no makers mark. Looking at them together, it strikes me how different the bottom one is to the other two, although the detail is fine, makes me wonder if its kosher ? Regards
    17. Hi, Bought a number of miniatures and stickpins recently half combat / half civil. Showing four 16mm combat mini's - Left to Right - Black Wound Badge L59 maker - Silver Infantry Assault Badge - Silver General Assault Badge - slightly larger WW1 Black cut-out Wound Badge, other three have no makers mark. If members have other combat miniatures they want to show. Please do.
    18. Hi, Attended the military collectors club last saturday, bought a fair bit of WW2 German equipment, some German ww2 miniatures, organization badges, and a couple of tinnies. I'll put organization badges up for review. First is a Technische Nothilfe (civil defence) 3rd Form stick pin, nicely made enamelled stick-pin measures 22mm square, on the reverse the wearers number is stamped, in this case 49737. Second piece metal, although not stricty belonging to a organization was issued to personnel at Krupp's Germania Shipyard based in Kiel - Gaarden measures 24mm x 26mm. The shipyard built over 130 U-boots and the cruiser Prinz Eugon up to and during WW2. The date in this case - 22 August 1938 commemerates the launch of the cruiser Prinz Eugon - which later fought along side the Bismarck against the british fleet in the Atlantic.
    19. Interesting point you raise Kevin. I wonder if it may be a latent hangover from the security conscious format used on WW2 death cards, on these the unit served in was mentioned only in the most general terms infantry, artillary, gebirgsjäger, never the unit number, likewise WW2 Kriegs Chroniks. On the other hand WW1 death cards and war chronicles nine out of ten times give all manner of detail, unit number, where the soldiers fought, war wounds etc. I've included a picture of a WW1 Kriegs Chronik, briefly the soldier was with 476 Infantry Regiment - fought a number of battles, one being Verdun - received a shrapnel wound neck and ear at Guiscard. Demobilized - Jan 1919. Sorry the picture not the best, its in a glass frame. Best Wishes
    20. Hi, Bought this WW2 Kriegs Chronik at the weekend fleamarket, strictly not of the period, commemorates a soldiers service life, don't remember seeing one on the forum, thought I'd show this one. I do have a couple of similar framed WW1 chronicles with different motifs, this one measures 45cm x 33cm deals with the military career of Staff N.C.O. Heinrich Kirschner - holder of the EK 2 and Ost Medal - joined up 1.10.39 took part in the campaign that over-ran Poland & France. 1941 advanced as part of the army middle section into Russia - Moscow,Orel, Vitebsk, defence and retreat fighting. Taken by the english as a P.O.W. - Released 20.10.45. How he came from fighting outside Moscow to be a english P.O.W is not stated - maybe not enough space.
    21. Hello Gentlemen, Last week purchased a mainly cloth convolute, one piece is this cloth Cap Badge shown. Trying to pin it down, I believe its from a Army Cap Badge, but have not been able to find which branch. Do members have any ideas. Best Wishes
    22. Hello Eitze, Thanks for the posts and pictures. As I mentioned the King Zvonimir document is part of a convolute. Other pieces of the convolute include Engelhardt's Sterbebild and a invitation card to a church remembrance service for him, printed on both is his medal honours EK2, KVK 2nd Class with Swords and Zvonimir 2nd Class with Oakleaves. I've included a picture of both. I take it Eitze, you are a reader of Serb - Croat text, it would appear his family didn't really know exactly which medal grade he had been awarded. Again thanks for the posts. Best Wishes AlecH [
