    1. Jock, From what I gather, these commerative pieces were struck for the participants of the action and as you say a short run, I've been told less than 2000 white pieces, 3000 brown pieces and 200 brown pieces with a gold border. They are numbered in Meissen's cataloque as Sch 1877a. Thanks for the soap and water tip, apart from popping it into a plastic bag, I've done nothing with it.
    2. Came across this unglazed porcelain Luftwaffe medal in a antique shop, its quite large 4,8cm (nearly 2inches) diameter. One side has a swastika in the centre with the text "The forced upon us war must be the most glorious victory in German history" the second side depicts Junker's 87 - Stuka's flying over Tower Bridge with (premature) text "There's today, no islands more ". Liked it so much I bought it,

    6. Not exactly a honour pin, but belongs to the RAD family. Large metal RAD tinnie,
    7. Solid - Cast ! - at the moment there's mine with number and Tiestes overexposed flash picture, just where the number would be. Lets hope someone can come up with another couple of badges from somewhere - perhaps one of the members can magic something up.
    8. Pete, With respect your looking at the wrong badge. In Tieste catalogue - NSFK 39 -02 badge has the same venue, same dates, looks very similar to the one I posted, metal came in bronze and silver, a solid tinnie. I posted the next in the series,Tieste's catalogue NSFK 39 -03 metal and has three cut-outs around the central figure. Yesterday I did spend a couple of hours trawling through the net, hoping to find at least a couple of further examples for comparison - nothing
    9. Pete - What I take to be the issue number 20 is on the front, directly under the date - position 6.0 clock in the zinc pest.
    10. Well Pete, all good things come to a end. Although I heard / read Tieste is working on new edition of his catalogues, a lot of the prices in the current books are hopelessly outdated. He does seem to me at least, to have more interest in cataloguing tinnies and getting them into his books, regarding pricing them up is a secondary function for him and he doesn't put so much effort in this side of the book.
    11. Yes Pete, I keep pegging away, although not a avid tinnie fan, when they cross my path and the price is right I take them. Trouble is there's such a lot of different ones, sometimes I wonder if the price of them will ever rise. Can't imagine the May Day or WHW tinnies increasing much in price, although to be fair some of the niche tinnies i.e. SA, SS, HJ Bann, have started to command good prices. I noticed a HJ Nesselwang Mannschaft tinnie exactly the same as I placed on our HJ thread went for 200€ a couple of weeks ago, would seem awareness is stirring.
