Hi,

how often are these up for sale and what can be shelled out for one?

They come up for sale fairly often. For a collector grade sight with case and filters it will be about $400 or more from a dealer. You may find a deal on ebay though. There were two different cases. The Kidney or "Y" shaped case is earliest c. 1912 to 1916. The Binocular shaped case is 1917-18. On Tuesday (my next day off) I will pull out some stuff and post some photos for you. Yes for all three threads. Right now I am working some double shifts and don't have time. If you have a chance to pick up "The Devils Paintbrush" by Dolf Goldsmith, it shows all of the accesories and armorers kits for the maxims. It is most likely out of print, but a great reference.
