Guest Rick Research Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 Bulgarian Tsar Ferdinand Bronze Medal "for Merit" ("za Zasluga") with Crown on the War Ribbon. The Austro-Hungarian Merit Cross in Iron on the war ribbon was generally given to buck privates, and I'd say this grade of the Bulgarian medal went to Gefreiters. The Prussian IX Years service medal I would have taken to be a post-1918 award for WW1 doubled war time for precisely such a ranker, EXCEPT for the Prussian Crown Order Medal!!! A very very interesting extremely junior rear area/staff (princeling's chauffeur or military valet???) type NCO bar!!!
Stogieman Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Nice to see the Medal of The Prussian Order of The Crown mounted.... a tough piece to find!
