EuRob Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Hi~ I am a new member on this site and saw the post with the "Medalla de la campa?a".I too have one of these although I dont know much about it except that it was a common award to all those who fought in 1936-39 civil war. My version has 2 initials AM under the griffins? foot, also on the reverse alongside the shield is the maker "industrias Egana". (see pics)Can anyone give me any info on this medal and/or the marks? Thanks Rob
Ed_Haynes Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 It was an award for those on the rebel (fascist) side, not the government and its supporters.
Jacques Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Hi,Welcome to the forum. This medal was indeed widely produced and awarded to Spanish veterans and Legion condor members.Ega?a is the spanish most known manufacturer, and its decoration are always of good quality. I just find one like your in medals bar, with the same MM and AM letters. I think that Panzerpionner or Valero will be more helpfull to say if this is a period mark or post-war.jacques

Perhaps some fellow collectors could post some medal bars with bomb-proof provenances on order to establish a fail-safe rule.
