Here's one you don't see every day, an L13 (Paul Meybauer, Berlin) in 2nd Class. . .

I'm speechless-just the 2nd of them I know in collectors hand! This is one of the extremely rare ones! Did you get it from Germany the last time? I was too late for the update........ .But anyway,this one is a killer EK! Well done,my friend!

Thank you, my friend, and yes, this one came from the land where the Iron Crosses grow. I know I paid too much for it, but as you pointed out, this is an extremely rare cross, and on some level price was of no consequence. I'm still looking for an L/15 in 2nd Class. I have only seen one. . .

I would have payed the same....I tried to buy it but soemeone was quicker !! And....my L/54 wasn't cheaper........

A super catch Bill. Congratulations. Assuming this is the one from a certain German dealer, I too tried for this but was to late. Given the scarcity of these, I don't think the price was over the top.

But just to play the devils advocate, have you compared this to a "113"? I saw this for sale too, and the big split in the ring made me wonder. I don't have one, but I was just wondering if this might possibly be a damaged (on the ring only) 113...

Interesting idea, Hank, but what sold me was the lower arm of the "L", big split notwithstanding. . .
