landsknechte
I'm not much of a buckle collector either (I have a a single solitary buckle), but the one opinion that I an offer with any real certainty is that I'm looking in the wrong damn dumpsters... --Chris
lach470
Hey Andy....let me start by saying that I know more about Third Reich items but I also have some imperial items.....This is a common EM steel buckle introduced in 1915 (I think)....they used to me made of brass but they needed the brass more for shell casings rather than buckles.Anyways...this type of buckle isn't heavily reproduced....but it is reproduced to some extent....my concern here would be the soldering on the catch...it doesn't look like the same manufacturing on any of my imperial buckles....I'm not saying that I'm 100 percent on this but it raises my eyebrows....plus the fact that there is very little rust or patina on it.....just not sure about this one!Hope this helps.....take careRob

Tony
Hello Andy,I've heard that repros are stamped from quite thin pieces of steel, from the photo your buckle appears to have the normal thickness.Tony
Tom Y
yours buckle is a good match to some apparently from a small hoard that werte on the market a few years ago, some still wrapped in oiled paper. I'd give it a big thumbs up. Definitely worth the price
