How to find information regarding vets of the commonwealth?

Hi Guys,

I'm offered a territorial service medal for 50 euro's of George VI,

of which I only know the number 848388

Could anyone help me out and tell me where and how I can find information about the men/women to which certain medals belongs??

Honestly, I am not sure the NUMBER alone does you any good at all. The regiment only would be better. Seems to me the price is high anyway, but that may just be me.

BNo name or unit marking at all on the medal? Veddy odd! Or have they been shaved or ground off?

Then I would be very angry for such a beautifull medal being demolished.

But it was everything I could see on the picture.
