From the same brief period (summer 1945? he was released in August 1945) is Konteradmiral (V) August Böning (1891-1964)-- Although dark (the only other photo of him in his unique rank was used in the Admirals biographies) he is wearing his unaltered ribbon bar and KVK1X (that shows in the book photo).
