Riley1965 Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Gentlemen,These two douments were sent to me by a young man I have helped and encouraged his interest in the ORS. Am I right to say that the Archive record document will make things MUCH easier for the researcher? Also, is the Russian document the same as the translated document? Doc
Gerd Becker Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Doc, as far as i can see, the translation is correct. This kind of research comes from the Russian MoD and is just a confirmation, that the Order was awarded and delivered to the awardee and a short version of the citation. The information on these is not so extensive like on the usual copies of the archive-documents, we get from our researcher. I have also one or two orders with this kind of research and its better than not researched at all.Gerd
Riley1965 Posted December 26, 2006 Author Posted December 26, 2006 Thank You Gerd!!! The documents came with his ORS. I am going to recommend that he get the rest of the translation. Thanks again my friend, Doc
NavyFCO Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Back when I started researching (just before this one was researched) this was all that you got from the archives. It wasn't until about 1998 or so when they actually started photocopying citations.Dave
