I agree with Tim. Modern Purple Heart. I'd hang onto any thing called "Purple Heart" if I lived in the USA

Thanks, what is the gold device?

Is the placing of the items good, cause I saw some other examples where that gold device is placed on the left side of the case?

And should I post pics of the case, pin of the medal?

The 'gold device' is the backing plate for the ribbon bar. It slides onto the ribbon bar and the pin backs with clutches are meant to mount the ribbon on the uniform.

I`m no expert, but it looks like a modern issue to me.
