Rod Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 I have a 1939 EK1 that is engraved (very simply done) to Heinrich Ebker along with his soldbuch that does not fully complete his service. I am not questioning the authenticity of the items. But I am wondering if someone might be able to give me more information on Ebker.I can tell you he was a Hauptmann with Unit Stab 111/Artillerie Regiment 186/86 Infanterie Division. He served in Russian and was badly wounded but appears to have recovered. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Rod
Rod Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 Perhaps I should have entered my query on another section? Can someone comment? Thanks,Rod
dond Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Hi Rod, scans of the soldbuch would help I think.
Rod Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 (edited) Hi Don (fancy meeting you here ha ha)I have ferreted through the soldbuch and it seems to just cut off during his active service after his return from Russia in what appears to be really bad shape. Maybe there is a "volume 2" soldbuch.Perhaps he died of his wounds, or discharged, or was shortly thereafter killed. ????? I was hoping to get some offical army data (like I got with my recent WW1 Hauptmann Held query) to compare to Ebker's soldbuch and hopefully beyond that point.I wonder if the official army records are more readily available for WW1 than WW2. Hummm ... very interesting....Regards,Rod Edited February 13, 2007 by Rod
