Thats quite a nice collection of helmets you have there. My goal is to aquire one nice clean example of each branch, eventually.

SS and the para that you have are going to be tough to find(and pay for).

Here are some of the helmets I have displayed right now.The ss helmet was a relic conditon M-35 fs 66.I still haven't been ableto get the color good enough to suit me.I normally wouldn't have whent to so much trouble with a rusted out old helmet, but I felt it didn't deserve being turned into someones new toaster.

What a great bunch of steel pots. That is one of my areas of collecting, but I can't outfit a platoon. Only a squad. They are habit forming.

    Hmmmm?

Jim, that old SD M42 Heer pot you've got there? Sure looks familiar to me. I'd swear that one looks awful similar to an example I had here at my domain once upon a time! tongue.gif

    Hi folks!

Nice specimen you have here!

Well, I?m not a helmet collector but how can you say that you collect Germann stuff if you don?t have a single helmet?!? :shame: So I?ve been adding a few to my collection.

So here is my M42 SD Heer, ET 64 with rough finish. I simply loved its "WAS THERE" look!

Here is a nice one. When I look close I can see 4 colors. Nice liner and strap. Named on the rim but hard to make out. H L---s--m??? Something like that.

    Nice lids all, nice lids.

For many years, I was in to collecting items of the German Army, then, switched my allegience to the German Luftwaffe. Sometimes though, when one sees an item, or items, just too nice to pass on, one has to pick them up.

Here's a pair of German Army pots I picked up last Saturday. A DD M 35 with early pre war smooth paint, and an SD M40 with war time textured paint.

Both helmets have their original liners, cords, and chinstraps.

Solitary pic showing what appears to be an earlier applied eagle on the DD M35 that has then had a secondary eagle placed over it at some point. Notice the age toning underneath the wing areas to both sided of the eagle's chest, as to how the wearing away of the top eagle allows this to be seen.

Hope the membership has enjoyed these photographs.

Outstanding Frank,it's hard enough finding one good helmet at a show let alone 3,and in such good shape. One heck of a Saturday.
