Dietrich Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 The detail and craftmanship is just amazing!!!
Guest Rick Research Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Who was this one awarded to? I agree about the design of the Order, but that RIBBON--- yeeeeccch!!!!
Dietrich Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 Hi Rick!I got an translation, hope it's right:Korniliaev Zahar Michailiovitscheh, read for yourself...What's wrong with the ribbon?Dietrich
Guest Rick Research Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Zakhar, other than that. "x" is that smoker's phlegm/cat coughing up a furball/chawin tabacky pre-spitoon "hrrrreck" noise. It's too fuzzy-- the middle bit looks like a cross between the Lenin 1970 Centenary and the Chernobyl badges, and the non-matching green and blue edge stripes... A+ on the Order design (nicer than the WW2 Order of Victor, I think), but the ribbon... too fussy for my taste. Think how this would have been improved on a strong, symettrical ribbon like the Order of Lenin. BTW, I've never SEEN an "L" edition Orders Book before, so that's one to add to my list. What year was it printed? (bottom of last page, tiny letters). I've just gone back to the Orders Books type thread to start adding your new find in there!
Dietrich Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 Happy I could help Unfortunately no year - at least I don't see one...Dietrich
Guest Rick Research Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Nothing on the inside back cover, the very last page with anything printed?
Dietrich Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 Absolutely nothing, nowhere. I have two other books (1940 in the very rear and 1945 bottom of last page). But nothing here.Where is this booklet thread?Dietrich
Guest Rick Research Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=675You have a 1940 TOO!? That's TWO to add to the list!!!!!!!!
