buellmeister Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 (edited) Gentlemen, On all of the Crosses in which are displayed in my case, there are none that have the detail of this one I just purchased. The detail on the core is crisp and it looks to be jeweler made. The only mark seems to be an "X" stamped on the smaller ring. The frame has that wonderful patina that I love and it has that stored in a "dusty attic" look which enhances the character. I'm amazed at the detail of the oak leaves!Regards,Joel Edited March 19, 2007 by buellmeister
buellmeister Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 (edited) Gents, Could this be a faint stamp? Edited March 20, 2007 by buellmeister
buellmeister Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 (edited) I must admit I've inspected the rest of my flock and there isn't another Cross in my inventory that exhibits the "flanged out" smaller line on the "F." Has anyone else seen or have this varient? Also, I've noticed that the relief on the core is one of the more pronounced going slightly above the frame. The pictures I have taken do this cross a grave injustice. Maybe I'll try my scanner...Regards,Joel Edited March 20, 2007 by buellmeister
