Gordon Craig Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 (edited) Gents,Does anyone recognize this cross? The reverse is plain only showing a rivet where the central piece is attached to the cross. The arms are 52mm (2 inches) across.Regards,Gordon Edited March 21, 2007 by Gordon Craig
hunyadi Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Its one of two things - A non-official school or fraternity medal from the 1930's or a 1960's Lake Balaton Surfers / Biker Gangs medal that chanted "Die Kaddar Kismalac!" as they rode through the town.IMHO - fantasy piece made with the center piece of a WW2 Hungarian Knights Cross...thats about the only original part to my eyes...
Gordon Craig Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 Charles,Exactly my thoughts as well. Didn't want to prejudice the answers though. I'll look for one the next time I am at Balaton provided I am focusing on the right thing.Regards,Gordon
Ulsterman Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 worth grabbing for the part though-you never know when you might you need it.
Gordon Craig Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 (edited) Here are some more "unusual" pieces from the same vendor. The first one is supposed to a Knights Cross Commander Neck Order. Still, a nice order even if they got it wrong. Edited March 22, 2007 by Gordon Craig
Gordon Craig Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 (edited) This one could be what it says it is but I am not familiar with this era so can not say for sure.It is listed as "Order of the Foederatio Emericana, Commanders Cross" - 1921-46. Anyone familiar with this organization?Regards,Gordon Edited March 22, 2007 by Gordon Craig
