WW1 Tunic...

I saw a nice one today.

It had Lt. boards. the underlay was a carmine pinky reddy colour (not the usual red) with black on top.

Down the front and on the back were the same carmine piping, above the cuffs was black piping.

Any idea what these colors mean? Cavalry?

It had litzen on the collar with carmine piping as well.

sorry, no photo.

2 bottons side by side, black piping on top.

Litzen on the collar that are on a backing, with the carmine red piping around it.

I wish I could describe it better !

I'm confused. What you're describing sounds like could turn out as either PIONEERS (red OVER plushy black velvet) or VETERINARY: tabs OK, but boards only one color with road kill serpent devices and I'm not sure about the tunic piping but think there would be cuff bars.
