JimZ Posted March 25, 2007 Author Posted March 25, 2007 Good Conduct chevrons: 4 years per stripe for being a good boy (or gal!!)
JimZ Posted March 25, 2007 Author Posted March 25, 2007 Not strictly RN but Royal Australian Navy! The story goes that when the manufacturer of patches proposed a prop aircraft as the badge design (based on the RN) he was told that " We have JET aircraft!!" Hence the difference
JimZ Posted March 25, 2007 Author Posted March 25, 2007 Another Marksman badge - guns got slings.... dunno why!
JimZ Posted March 25, 2007 Author Posted March 25, 2007 Whew... need to catch a breather!!!Wish I could give more details but RN patches are a weird sort of animal! Not too many people know what they are all about and there are just so many its hard to follow them all or make sense of them! Apparantly I was told that existing literature focussed on such trade patches stopped a couple of decades and although there is a book of sorts, it has not been updated since!More to follow!!Jim
