Jan Arne S Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Hi Guys !I assume this one is a FAKE , but I post a couple of pics . Jan Arne
Gordon Williamson Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I've seen a few exceptionally well made pieces that were either unmarked - or at least did not have the usual Schwerin lettering on the reverse-so were certainly not the usual run of the mill copies of the regular Schwerin examples- but I'd be hard pushed to accept anything other than the two known Schwerin styles as being authentic. Is this one descried as Tombak or Zink ?
Jan Arne S Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 Hi Gordon !Nothing is said about metal type in the auction . And pics are not the best .Seller also has a couple of other items , some is good and some is bad . And this morhing he has also set down the price on the clasp . Dont give me any good feelings . Jan Arne
joetauchretter Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I do not have a good feeling on this badge also , I would pass on this one . I do not like the pin assembly as I have seen this style on many known u-boat clasp fakes and the finnish looks poor and does not show any of the usual bubbling found on original clasps . I also do not like what looks like heat discoloring around the area or the pin hinge and hook , these areas look like someone with little skill in soldering soldered these parts on . Maybe , if it was dirt cheap it could be good for a hole filler in a badge collection .Joe
