Kriegsmarine WW1 U-Boat Badge - Opinion

Hi,

I was looking at this particular badge but was hoping I could solicite an opinion as to it's authenticity.

Sorry if I misplaced putting it in this forum but I did not see a WW1 forum (please correct me if I am wrong).

Can't say I like it. It doesn't compare well with known originals such as these

These Imperial U-Boat Badges are every bit as heavily faked as the Third Reich period ones. The pin/hinge fittings on this one don't look like anything I've ever seen on an original.

I have to agree with Gordon , I would pass on this badge . In my opinion it looks like a cast copy , the pin and hinge assembly looks nothing like what is found on original badges and the front looks like it has dark paint in the detail areas or has been chemical aged . You see these copies on eBay every day .
