JimZ Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Gentlemen, For those of you who have not yet realised there is finally a new sub-forum in GMIC for the militaria and history of Mediterranean States. This means that the various countries bordering the Mediterranean and not having their own sub forum, can place 'homless' threads within this section. If it is Militaria or History and is connected with the Mediterranean, we are glad to read about it. I hope this section manages to attract a good following over time and I hope that we can share some of the military and historical wealth that the Mare Nostrum has to share with the rest of the world. Thanks for the platform Nick Jim
Ed_Haynes Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Can this be restricted to the north shore of teh Mediterranean? To keep Arab awards together??
Nick Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 It is within the European Section so only captures those European Countries which border the Med.
Christian Zulus Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Post-Communist YU-countries ?Dear Nick, dear Jim,Gentlemen, what about the Ex-YU-countries - some of them have NO shore at the Adriatic Sea (Serbia, Makedonia and BiH with only a few miles) ?Do all Ex-YU-countries belong into this new section - or only the one with a direct access to the Mediterranean Sea ?Many thanks for the defintion .Best regards Christian
JimZ Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 (edited) Guidelines for the Southern European & Balkan States(Non Communist Era):Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Republic of Macedonia & Serbia. Gentlemen, for the sake of clarity please note that the Southern European & Balkan States forum is aimed at drawing focus to the militaria and military history of the following countries: Portugal, Spain, Monaco, Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Malta. In the case of Yugoslavia and Albania, there are other existing fora which are currently restricted to the socialist era. This forum will therefore also incorporate threads relating to Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina , Montenegro , Albania , Republic of Macedonia and Serbia in so far as these are: 1) NOT related to the socialist era covered by other fora; and2) and for so long as existing Yugoslavian and Albanian fora are restricted to the socialist era.As for Turkey and other the Arab States/Middle East bordering the Mediterranean, please note that these already have their own respective fora and therefore, any related threads should be posted thereunder.I hope this somewhat helps clarify the scope of this forumJim Edited November 17, 2007 by JimZ
