Kev in Deva Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Hallo Gents, please take a look at the pictures and see if you can suggest what belongs in it, as I have no idea, apart from V.E might be King Victor Emanuel, which would date it to pre Ww1, WW1 (?) ?The case is 58mm wide by 94mm longKevin in Deva.
Great Dane Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Hi Kev,My guess would be the Italian Order of the Crown. It would fit the round shape in the case./Mike
Kev in Deva Posted April 19, 2007 Author Posted April 19, 2007 Hallo Mike thanks for the suggestion but upon trying a Italian Order of the Crown, it does not sit right in the box the indentation is approxamately 38mm across.Kevin in Deva.
Jacky Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 (edited) Then I would think it's any of those royal commorative medals.....as 38 mm is quite a standard measurement for medals.Kind regards,Jacky Edited April 19, 2007 by Jacky
Great Dane Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Kevin,I just measured my Order of the Crown Knight Cross. It is 37mm in 'diameter'. Are you sure it won't fit?You didn't by accident try a Commander's Cross of the order?/Mike
