Guest Rick Research Posted April 21, 2007 Share Posted April 21, 2007 Most Third Reich Feuerwehr boards have black Vs and black centers for the NCO ranks:The all carmine ones like yours are an older, Weimar Republic style-- and the sort of insignia as Paul says that a volunteer department would have been more likely to keep than professionals. I seem to remember, that it came from a veteran of the norwegian resistance movement, via a friend of mine. I was told at the time, that it was for one of the lowest ranks of the SD. I'm not good at describing colours. To me, it doesn't look dark green, or it might be a bit faded. The material of the underlay looks more like cotton.
