Von Hessenthal and Schreiber give that information, as does Klietmann's little red "Pour le Merite und Tapferkeitsmedaille" from the 1960s. vH&S is probably your best bet for Imperial stuff-- certainly for "cost effectiveness."

Some books great just for the words and a general idea of what it 'should' look like. But yes, I don't think Jorg has ever seen a fake unless it's lead and bendy.
