Based on those pictures I doubt either one is original to the period. The one on the right has the 1957'ish reverse assembly.

Darrell, as ever thanks, welcome any other views as to whether they are known fakes and possible dates of manafacture (also welcome views on prices)

These are known fakes/copies/reproductions or whatever, they are seen regularly on ebay etc.. Leave em alone ,there bad for your wallet!! Ferg1.

Not sure a friend got them for me as I am on the lookout for them, on appraisal, London area?will try to find out

The left one shows use of a rivit on the back to supposedly secure the bird, but I believe the bird is NOT seperately applied. Details to the trickery employed are fascinating!!
