Tom Y Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 You don't see this mounting too often. From photos I've seen it's primarily for civilian wear. The cross itself is unmarked with a brass or copper core and plated brass frame. The buttonhole is marked C.W.& Co. Solide.
Chris Boonzaier Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I used to have a WW1 era 1870 cross mounted like that, I think there was a Deschler button on the back of the ribbon so you could wear it in a (lapel?) buttonhole.
