Christian Zulus Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 "10 Years Soviet-Russia" - badge of the Austrian Communist Party (KPOe)Gentlemen, that's an anniversary badge issued by the Communist Party of Austria (KPOe) celebrating 10 years of the existence of Soviet-Russia.The badge is rather thin, made of brass and has a dimension of 3 cm x 4 cm. It has a mirror reverse.Besides that badge I show a small lapel pin - also from the 1920s -, which had been the official membership badge of the Austrian Communist Party at that time. Made of brass and with rather good enamel.Years ago I got both items within a lot of numerous old badges & pins, which had to do with communism, Soviet Union or socialism at an auction in Vienna.Best regards Christian"10 Years Soviet-Russia" av.:"10 Years Soviet-Russia" rv.:Membership lapel pin of the Austrian Communist Party av.:Membership lapel pin of the Austrian Communist Party rv.:
Christian Zulus Posted July 1, 2007 Author Posted July 1, 2007 Very nice, and rare, particularly the 27' badge.Dear Belaruski, many thanks .I assume, that genuine badges of the German or Austrian Communist Party before the year 1945 are extremly rare, because no clear minded communist comrade would have kept them in his home after 1933 or 1938, under the Nazi-regime .If the German Gestapo would have found the badge "10 Years Soviet-Russia" in one's flat, that might have resulted in a "one-way-ticket" to Auschwitz .Best regards Christian
Belaruski Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Actually that would make a nice and rare collecting field, German and Austrian pre-war Communist items.
Christian Zulus Posted July 5, 2007 Author Posted July 5, 2007 (edited) Actually that would make a nice and rare collecting field, German and Austrian pre-war Communist items.Dear Belaruski, well, that's true and they Communists in Germany & Austria produced some nice items, but I assume, that there are not so many left, due to the years 1933 - 1945.I only have a "1st of May Badge" of the Austrian Communists from 1926 and nothing more of the pre-war period.Best regards Christian Edited July 7, 2007 by Christian Zulus

Sergey Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Dear Sergey, many thanks for your interest .Can you tell me what the "Truda i Nauka .... " inscription at the "1st of May Badge" with Lenin adressing the masses exactly says - many thanks .Best regards ChristianPerfectly I shall try.It is one of the first slogans of the Soviet authority. Work and the Science (Work and the general education) will help to create the strong state. This slogan was actual for the state after two wars Great war (1914-1917), Civil war (1918-1921), War with Poland 1922. Mass flight from Russia highly skilled experts (engineers, doctors, lawyers, officers of imperial army) .There was a situation when bolsheviks had full authority in the country but could not organize a peace life and government. Lenin's first slogan-The cook will operate the state has failed. There was a necessity in the afternoon to work, and goes to school in the evening to bring up of the experts. It is necessary to tell, that bolsheviks have coped with this problem excellent. Already to the middle of the thirtieth years they could bring up a plenty of experts from weight of workers and peasants. Examples-Gucow, Korolew, Kalinin, and others .Mine bad English does not allow me to answer your question well. With deep respect Sergey.
