Stogieman Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Distinci?n "Por la Cultura Nacional" Presumably for Cultural Service of some type.... a broad spectrum, possibly encompassing arts, music, etc.??
Ulsterman Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Yup-seems to be a lower level-you are a member of the provinical orchestra-you get this medal.
Guest Rick Research Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 ONE of the many enigmas we face trying to figure these awards are is what seems to be the completely capricious precedence assigned to the medals. Now obviously most of the lifetime service in one field or another medals were probably (?) the ONLY medal being worn, but the slap dash way in which they SEEM to be assigned descending importance makes absolutely no rationally organized sense!!!
Ulsterman Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Agreed- I base my comments upon the perusal of @ 20 resumes of varied sorts (election lists, party lists, cultural resumes, academic resumes) and everyone in the arts community seems to get this medal. however, the NAMED medals seems to merit more 'worth', as they are awarded later and not to 'everyone". The "Stars" seem to list the named medals at the top.No the real interesting one is the medal of valor that was awarded to the Lt. Col. shot by the "US sponsored" hijackers last year.
