Absolutely superb regimental citation for saving a comrade under fire on the beach!!!!!

Kapit?n zS Hermann M?rsberger (1872-1940) retired as char. Konteradmiral zS aD. He commanded Marinekorps Flandern's heavy artillery from September 1914 to July 1917, ending the war as Captain of SMS "Markgraf."

Lt dR (Matrosenartillerie) Rudolf M?ller (b.1890) was a Saxon. He was in MKF's heavy artillery from November 1914 on, and Regimental Adjutant of 1st Heavy Corps Artillery Regiment 1 from December 1916 to June 1918, with final rank Oberleutnant dR (MA) 17.6.17 J2i.

You mean on the EK? Same dates are very much the exception.

2 years between award and signing of the doc is not unusual.

Initially they planned to do an official document like for 1870, so units started awarding preliminary docs, some from day one of the war, some started much later and issued them months or years after the event....

Of course... the Official document never happened....
