RedMaestro Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Hi All! My father gave me these helmets a while ago. He got them from his uncle, a former antique dealer. I have absolutely no idea what kind they are. Can anyone identify them or provide any information? Thanks! First, is a black helmet, with a swastika on a red shield. On the other side is a gold eagle with another swastika. On the interior "2509 Ruppert" is written in white paint. The other other looks like it could be Afrika Corps, but I'm not sure.
buellmeister Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 (edited) RedMaestro, The first Helmet is a M34 "Squaredipped" which I believe, was issued to the units policing the Rural Waterways. Given the tone of the Polizei shield. The second is a felt Heer Pith Helmet which was issued for the units fighting on the Greece/Italian front. If it was Canvas, it would be for the DAK.
