Chris Boonzaier Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Does anyone have a pic of the Spanish army wound badge and know if Germans were awarded this?A friend found one in a junk shop in the area here and wonders if it is a WW2 spanish one and if it possible it was worn by a LC vet?
Kev in Deva Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Hi Chris have you any pictures or sketches of this item??Kevin in Deva.
Ed_Haynes Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 There was a Spanish wound MEDAL, awarded both by the Spanish government and by the fascist rebels. Is this what you mean?
Kev in Deva Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 (edited) I seem to recall a medal with a red X on the ribbon, now hopefully to find a picture. One book I have refers to: the "Medal of Suffering for the Country" (wounded by enemy fire) as being worn by Spanish troops, I think this was from thr Spanish Civil War era and was probably issued to Spanish troops of the "Blue Division" in Russia.I have never heard of it being worn by Germans though!!Kevin in Deva Edited July 15, 2007 by Kev in Deva
