Rocky Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 (edited) Hi Gents, Another Dual EK I with a new twist for wearer. This unit has a double hooked Spange. Both the Spange and EK are unmarked. Obviously jeweler made or modified. With an expertly applied hinge placed between the Spange and EK. My only though hear might be to prevent the uniform from puckering when the person was in motion or bending etc. Please - any other ideas / suggestions would be most appreciated. Thank You. dond Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Not a spange that I'm familiar with and the reverse attachments don't look anything like you would normally find on a period piece. The positioning of the spange on good ones that I have seen has always been flush on top of the EK1. This piece leaves mores questions than it answers IMHO.
Rocky Posted July 22, 2007 Author Posted July 22, 2007 Thanks for the input and questions, that is what makes the forum so valauable. Hopefully this will continue to bring about some very interesting dialog. Thank you dond
gregM Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 This is the first time that I have seen one of these combos built usinga 1930's replacement style EK.This is just my opinion --But I personally believe that maybe 1 in 10of these combos that we see are period. I think most are resentput togethers.
