Gordon Craig
I had a very enjoyable visit to the police museum in Budapest this morning. It was a small museum but they have doen a good job of useing the space for displays. Unfortunately, I was only able to take a couple of photographs before they told me they were not allowed. There was no sign forbidding them as there was at the Fireman's Museum and we got to take all kinds of photo there! I managed to sneak few photos when the guard left the room but they are mostly blurry and don't show any details. I'll post a few now and I hope to be able to go back several more time and take some more sureptitious photos with someone else to stand watch for me and warn me when the boogy man is coming! The museum covers a wide period of time and I will only post pictures from the HUPR period. The first one is of a white policewoman's uniform that I have never seen before. It is a white tunic with dark blue (not navy blue) cuffs and collar. The skirt is the same colour as the cuffs and collar. The hat is completely white except for the gold chin strap. Gordon Craig
This next uniform shot is also of a police woman's uniform but this time she is wear a blue hat which sems to be of the same style as the white one shown previously, and a blue trench coat. The hat has a silver chin strap to indicate a difference in rank from the previous person who had a gold chin cord. Gordon Craig
The only other picture I can show from the museum is the one of a policeman in a guard hut at the main entrance.
