Eric K. Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Just picked this up today ( don't mind the date on the pic...just changed batteries ) pretty nice with serial numbers matching the award and packet. Eric
BURGERHAUS Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Nice catch Eric. It never ceases to amaze me how a piece like this has stood the test of time so well. Congrats. Robert
Eric K. Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 (edited) you can say that again, this is the desk it was in, both the badge and the packet was in a jar full of nails and screws :speechless1:I bought the desk too, Eric Edited August 1, 2007 by Eric K.
Eric K. Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 the jar was in the middle section here and this beautiful roll top (maker on the desk is dated 1810) was used as a work bench, You just never know what you'll find hidden in the nooks and cranny'sEric
Eric K. Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 Sorry, I just noticed that there was n HJ section so this is in the wrong area , Eric
Scowen Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 No problem Eric, I can move it if needed.Nice find by the way. Did you know that the badge was with the desk or was it an accident?CheersDon
Eric K. Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 (edited) It was pretty much by accident, but I did find it while still in the store so it the desk cost a little more but well worth it.I also found some photo's but they were in terrible shapeEric Edited August 1, 2007 by Eric K.
BURGERHAUS Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 (edited) No doubt the original owner of your badge was very proud of his achievement. So much so he hid it so well it took 60= years for someone to find it. The desk is a treasure too. Are the joints dove-tailed? Robert PS How was the pulse rate when only you knew what you had found? I get that way on the rare occasion when I get a nice flea market find but nothing in comparison to this. Edited August 1, 2007 by BURGERHAUS
