Ed_Haynes Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) His medals. Edited August 18, 2007 by Ed_Haynes
Ed_Haynes Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 Thanks for your patience. As always, wisdom, suggestions, observations, insights are welcomed. Let me know if any close-up scans (stamps?) are needed or useful.
Guest Rick Research Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 OPW1 1985 indicates he was then at least considered a war invalid. His early discharge and all his WW2 campaign medals being issued by his local veterans Commissariat as well as the tell-tale "not working" on his Award Record Card all suggest that something bad happened to him on the Manchurian front.I don't think I've ever seen a 1968 and 1975 document referring to the recipient as a Private... possibly another indication that for him, that was the last thing he ever did? The 1978 image isn't showing.
Ed_Haynes Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 The 1978 image isn't showing.Which??(Thanks, Rick. I wondered. A shame this is all the research ever likely to come.)
