taucher
What about this one?How do you see the first one is real?Thankstaucher
joe campbell
i don't have problems with either EK.condition is always a parameter to look at.some people love the worn condition, and willoften pay commensurately less. i try for veryfine condition, but will say that two of myabsolute favorite crosses are beautifully worn, well cared for pieces.i don't think you'd be making a mistake with either piece.no idea what the blue is...joe
taucher
Thanks Joe.The asking price for the second cross is about 200 dollars.Would that be a fair price and for this price could i do better?I would pay more for a cross if i knew it whas wearth it.on what bases do you say they are the real thing Joe?Have you ever heard of a one piece cross because he is also selling one.Sorry for the many questions and sorry for the Englisch. Thanks again guystaucher
joe campbell
your english is better than my french....while i always like to have something in my handbefore i buy it, i don't think 200 dollars is a badprice (or a particularly great price!!!).the 1914 EK 1 has gone up in price remarkablyin the past several years. not so many years agoi bought my first, with a case, for $90.....if yoy are looking for a nice issue piece, this would be very reasonable. try making an offerof $180!!good luck and let me know how it works out.joe

Mike K
Hi,The first KO is a nice original with some light wear. Looks like it's been cleaned based on the patchy patina. The second KO also appears to be a nicely worn example. To me, the main pin looks thinner than usual and I have a question over the catch on this one - a possible repair in the absence of an oblique pic of the catch. The Meybauer looks nice from the obverse. The maker mark and silver content are correct, however that is not a Meyabuer main pin. The main pin is imo almost certainly a replacement. I'd also want to see an oblique pic of the catch on this one - it should be true "C" form but I can't make it out from this pic. The 1914 cross has obviously been matched with a WW2 vintage case.
