Guest Rick Research
Dante-- the job titles were what the person was at the time of receiving the Cross. Here's a noncombatant ("war participant") document--Oberstleutnant aD Alois Louis was a pensioned off Bavarian amputee. This was made out with the wrong first name-- he sent it back-- they got his first name wrong again, so finally he signed and dated it with the correct name himself!
