lach470 Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Hey gang! I've been waiting a long time to find one like this! Finally added one to the collection! For your buckle newbies - what sets this one apart is not that it is smaller than the reg. buckles. - it's that the eagle is looking in the other direction! All other buckles have the eagle looking to his left....this one had him looking to the right. These buckles were only produced from January 1936 to March 1936....only three months, making this buckle one of the rarest IMO! These were private purchase buckles used for parade. This one is as close to mint as you're gonna get! I'm quite happy with this addition! Here are some pics for you! Cheers!Rob
lach470 Posted September 22, 2007 Author Posted September 22, 2007 Here's the back....you'll notice there are no "ears" by the prong bar ..... that is typical of these 40mm buckles!
lach470 Posted September 22, 2007 Author Posted September 22, 2007 One last shot....Here it is with my other 40mm but that one is looking to it's left....Nice comparison shot of the two types!Cheers!Rob
Stu W Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Hello Rob,Outstanding buckle. Not often you find the high points (breast feathers in particular) in that condition. I knew the production time frame was short but did not know the limits. Thanks for that piece of information...learn something new every day.Regards,Stu
lach470 Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 Hey Stu man!! Glad you like it buddy! Cheers.Rob

lach470 Posted October 7, 2007 Author Posted October 7, 2007 HAHAHAHA....good one bud! Never heard that one before! Those left-wingers, eh? Glad you like it buddy! Talk to you soon!Rob
lach470 Posted October 16, 2007 Author Posted October 16, 2007 Thanks Nesredep! GLad you like it....It's a pretty rare bird. I've actually got a regular size left facing buckle on the way from Germany. It will go nicely with this smaller version!Cheers!Rob
