Gordon Williamson Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Picked up the lower of these two from Detlev's update a couple of weeks back. Now I'm wondering, which is the correct mounting order ?
Guest Rick Research Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 The lower one is the correct regulation precedence, but the poor old Kriegshilfsdienstkreuz turns up allllllllll over in groups.I suspect since many of the recipients were civilians, they just put it wherever they felt like, and being zinky it was not highly valued by recipients. The original statutes made a BIG deal about it. It is one of the few awards authorized for being worn from a tunic buttonhole etc. Maybe the rare few 1916 awards held status, but by 1918 so many had been handed out that it was apparently not well regarded.
