Picked up the lower of these two from Detlev's update a couple of weeks back. Now I'm wondering, which is the correct mounting order ?

The lower one is the correct regulation precedence, but the poor old Kriegshilfsdienstkreuz turns up allllllllll over in groups.

I suspect since many of the recipients were civilians, they just put it wherever they felt like, and being zinky it was not highly valued by recipients.

The original statutes made a BIG deal about it. It is one of the few awards authorized for being worn from a tunic buttonhole etc. Maybe the rare few 1916 awards held status, but by 1918 so many had been handed out that it was apparently not well regarded.
