Nick Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 Any ideas on what and who this was awarded to.I think it says Honour the Worker who defends the land.
Scowen Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 "The worker to honour, the homeland to defend"This is one of the so called Limes medals, issued to it's workers by one of the contractors involved in the building of the West Wall. These were made before the institution of the official West Wall medal. The name of the company is written across the building.Hope this is of help.CheersDon
J Temple-West Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Here's another example.. "ABSCHNITT OFFENBURG LIMES 1938" COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL. Issued by the firm of Gr?n u. Bilfinger A.-G., Hauptunternehmer (Major Contractor).
Scowen Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 That's in a nice condition John, these things are usually quite scruffy.CheersDon
