Guest Rick Research Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Ha, that ought to confuse the google spiders! After thirty years of what I can only describe as star-crossed hard luck and probably bad karma from a previous existence, FINALLY at long long last, today I got my very first ORIGINAL 1914 EK2 on an Austrian style 40mm wide ribbon trifold. [attachmentid=10084][attachmentid=10085]Every other one I ever tried for back in the Good Old Days, whether from Manion in printed catalog without illustration days, or perfectly credible mail order (when that was it, except for shows) one I ever got... when prices were such that a LOOSE ribbonless EK2 didn't cost enough difference to bother returning... always had crappy new too small "replacement" ribbons. So there is much relief and happiness here to get a GOOD one at last! This has been a "hole" in my collection bothering me for far too long!
joe campbell Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 and rick, it was worth the wait!!you have a fine ribbon AND cross.i always enjoy seeing the handstitching on the reverse of the ribbon.the cross is in beautiful shape as well.are the ring or eye marked?nice addition to the family!joe
W McSwiggan Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Rick,Good for you!Now you can sleep!Very nice.wem
Guest Rick Research Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 It looks like F W or P W, with the bottom on the inner side of the ring. ? Two tries... normal scan and lightened a bit:[attachmentid=10102][attachmentid=10104]
Gerd Becker Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Man, if i would have known that earlier. I had a beautiful trifold-EK 2 not long ago, which i sold to an EK-collector. But you have one now, thats important. And a nice one
Christian L Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 nice one - really!!!!!!!!!!if you don't mind, i'd add what i bought a month ago (didn't needed 30 years - but i'm still very happy to have it) also on the correct mounted ribbon - with the wide white lines front:
