cimbineus Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Hello again, The ?SZOCIALISTA MUNK??RT ?RDEM?REM? type I medal is scarce not only because of its very short period of existence. At that time, if a new type of medal was instituted, usually there was a provision which allowed changing the ?old? type to the ?new? version of the award. And many people did so, especially in this case. They changed this ?ugly flat coin? to the new shiny golden award. Regards, cimbineus
Gordon Craig Posted November 23, 2008 Author Posted November 23, 2008 Hello all, You asked about the document, so, here it is. It comes from the collection of one of my friends. This is the official document of the "SZOCIALISTA MUNK??RT ?RDEM?REM" type I. The change to the new type happened only in April 1954. (I modified the name because of privacy reasons.) Regards, cimbineuscimbineus,Thanks very much for getting a picture of this document for the forum members from your friend. This appears to be the small carrying document rather than the larger award document. True?Regards,Gordon

This is the "big" one, the presentation document, the "diploma" which is usually put in a plastic covered booklet with the coat of arms on it. This is not the "permission" paper. Rgards, cimbineus
Gordon Craig Posted November 23, 2008 Author Posted November 23, 2008 cimbineus,Thanks for the quick response and the clarification. Helps me recognize the real thing when I see it. Surprised that it was so plain when many or them were real works of art in this early period.Regards,Gordon
