Tony Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Hello,Does anyone know if there's an online list of US units that served in Europe during the Great War?ThanksTony
Dave Danner Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 How detailed? This website has each division and its composition: http://www.thedigitalbookshelf.us/ww1_units.htmI'm not sure about a resource for non-divisional units.

Tony Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 Thanks Dave, that's a great link and it's gone straight into my favourites. I have a number of ID tags and just thought I like to have at least one from each country that had a unit fighting in Europe. At present I only have UK, France and Germany.CheersTony
Dave Danner Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 If you want to prioritize the units you look for based on the amount of action they saw, here are some charts from The War with Germany: A Statistical Summary (1919), showing total days in the line (in "quiet" and "active" sectors), prisoners taken and casualties taken.
Brian R Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Great charts. It's intertesting that the 2nd lead two out of three categories!!
Tony Posted November 14, 2007 Author Posted November 14, 2007 Thanks again Dave, that's great info.Tony
